App privacy policy

In short: DCFT collects no data. Everything you enter in the app stays on your iPhone and your Apple Watch.

What the app stores

Your profile (age, sex, body weight, goals, notes on joints and health), your machine, your plan and your workouts are stored only on your device. There is no account and no DCFT server. The app sends nothing to the internet and contains no advertising, no tracking and no analytics. The app uses your health answers only to make your plan more careful.

Apple Health

Apple Health is optional. If you turn it on, DCFT writes workouts, body weight and waist circumference to Health and reads body weight and steps. During setup you can fill in your age, sex and body weight from Health. With an Apple Watch, DCFT records the workout on the watch and reads heart rate and active energy while it runs. You choose each type of data yourself and can withdraw access in the iOS settings at any time. Health data is never shared, never used for advertising and never leaves your device through DCFT.

Apple Watch

The Apple Watch app exchanges your plan, sets, rest times and heart rate directly with your iPhone, over the connection iOS provides for this. No server is involved.

Notifications and Lock Screen

The alert at the end of a rest and the rest timer on the Lock Screen are created on your iPhone itself. DCFT uses no push server for them.

Purchases

DCFT Pro and the 14-day trial go through the App Store. Apple handles the payment; we receive no payment details and no information about you. Apple’s privacy terms apply.

Crash reports and app analytics from Apple

If you have agreed in the iOS settings under “Privacy & Security” to share data with app developers, Apple gives us aggregated usage figures and crash reports that are not linked to you. That setting is up to you and Apple; DCFT itself sends nothing.

Backups

Backup files and CSV exports only exist if you create them. You decide where to keep them and who to send them to.

DCFT also keeps automatic copies of your data on your iPhone (one per day, the last seven are kept), so you can go back after a mistake. These copies stay inside the app. Like all app data, they can be part of your iPhone backup in iCloud or on your computer if you use one; that backup is handled by Apple or by you.

Deleting your data

You can delete all data in the app’s settings. “Delete everything, including earlier versions” removes the automatic copies too. If you remove the app, iOS deletes its data as well.

Feedback from the app

“Send feedback” in Settings opens an email to [email protected] in your mail app. It contains what you write and, unless you turn it off, device info: app version, whether you use DCFT free, on the trial or with Pro, iOS version, iPhone model, language and the state of the Apple Watch connection. You see the whole email before you send it; nothing goes out unless you send it. Workout, body and health data are never included.

Website and contact form

The website dcft.hohl.dev and the contact form are covered by the hohl.dev privacy policy.

Contact and your rights

If you write to us at [email protected], including through “Send feedback”, section 8 of the hohl.dev privacy policy applies; it also lists your rights and the responsible supervisory authority.
